We have come to the realization that it’s time to make some changes.

Our personnel have changed, circumstances surrounding the Rescue have changed, and the aftermath of the COVID pandemic has had a huge impact on the entire rescue industry, leaving more dogs needing homes than we have ever seen before.

Additionally, hundreds of dogs are being imported into Canada monthly, flooding the system and diluting vital resources. Finding fosters has become increasingly challenging and the number of owners wanting to surrender their dogs is overwhelming. We no longer feel like we are making an impact and lack the manpower to continue to fight this battle.

And so, it is with heavy hearts that we announce the closure of the Loveabull Rescue Society.

Over the last 11 years we’ve had the privilege of finding loving homes for countless Bully breed dogs and other four-legged companions in need. Unfortunately, we are now in a position where we are unable to continue in this way and must close the Rescue part of our operation.

We will continue with our commitment to animal welfare and our community will live on through our ‘Spread The Love’ project, supporting marginalized pet owners in the Lower Mainland and throughout BC, with food, supplies, and resources. Our hope is that with this initiative, there will be less chance of pets needing to be surrendered or rehomed. We are excited to further develop this outreach project.

The team at Loveabull wants to express our deepest gratitude to everyone who has supported us: our volunteers, veterinary clinics, rescue partners, pet food suppliers, sponsors, donors, and especially our fosters and adopters. Your kindness and generosity have made the difference in the lives of so many dogs, and for that, we are forever grateful.

We have 2 dogs left in our care and we ask your help in getting Myra and Xena adopted by sharing their social media posts and spreading the word. We are still committed to finding their forever homes. For our Loveabull adopter family, please know that we are still here as a resource for you as long as you need us. We stand by our motto: once a Loveabull dog, always a Loveabull dog.

Lastly, we would like to thank our followers for your support over the years. Without you, we would not have been able to rehome the hundreds of dogs that came into our care, and we are so proud of our successes. Thank you for being a part of the Loveabull journey.

Stay tuned. There is more to come.
